Project 12 - April

For my April Project 12, I decided to just focus on last Easter's photos. I also had a new to me paper collection that I thought fit the Colour Suite well, but I think I wandered off a little bit with that. And the sketch. Guess I was having trouble staying on task :)

Crop Chocolate - Focus Group April Challenge

This month's challenge for the CropChocolate.com Focus Group, was to "Create a project using a technique/project that one of the DT girls have taught. 50% CC product required!"

So after scrolling through months of design team blog posts, I decided to try DeeDee's Never-Ending Card. You can see her original blog post here.

Here is what I made.

So if you have never seen and/or made a never-ending card, you may be wondering  why there are so many different pictures. The great thing about this card, and what makes it 'never-ending,' is that you flip/fold it around to see all these great sides and different combos of different sides. It's really fun to play with and really easy to make! So easy in fact, that my 8 year old made on too after she saw mine. I would post a pic of hers, but she already gave it to Nana :)

So if you are intrigued, go check out DeeDee's tutorial here!

I'm in Love!

So made myself step out of my bubble a bit and give something new a try. And I love how it turned out. Lots of photos in this post!

I used the sketch for the CropChocolate.com Challenge #11. And the inspiration photo from Moxie Fab's Trigger Tuesday. I love the colour palette and the birds. The stacking of the birds reminded me of a photo I had been wanting to use!

The sketch. (Great job DeeDee!)

My Canvas :)

So love the end result! I thought I would also share a few pics of the process.

This is the canvas after I had inked it up a bit.  I also stamped butterflies and clocks directly onto the canvas later on.

Once I reached this point I left it to think about what I would like to add. I knew it would probably be flowers and then when I was doing my usual morning blog reading, I saw some great uses of butterflies on the Bo Bunny blog and knew I had to add some of those too!

I would love to hear what you think!

The Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge this week is Heavy Metal. So we need to use metal embellishments or metallic colours.

Celeste was kind enough to let me borrow the stamp that she won from a previous KKS challenge!

I also used the sketch from Card Positioning System #259.

Creative Scrappers Sketch #202

Great sketch again over at Creative Scrappers! If you like sketch challenges, then you should be checking them out every week!

I combined the sketch with the new challenge at CropChocolate.com which is to let a favorite song inspire you!

I am terrible at thinking of songs, so I dared myself to tune into my favorite radio station and use the song they are playing (assuming it would be appropriate, of course ;). I lucked out because Iggy Pop's 'Lust for Life' was playing! I love this song and I think the title is fantastic for scrapping with. So I went digging through my pictures to find something that would fit.

The sketch.

My layout.

Love how this turned out! All products used are from Echo Park's Summer Days Collection and chipboard stickers.
