This may be CPS's 254th sketch, but it is my first time participating! I just heard about CPS the other day and when I checked them out and saw what the prize was I HAD TO PARTICIPATE! Can you say cute stamps!

The sketch.

This Week's Sketch (#254)

Unity Stamp Co. February Challenge

The February Unity challenge was posted the day after Valentine's Day. The challenge is "I challenge you to use HEARTS and be sure those hearts aren't red or pink!  In fact, if you use Designer Paper please be sure that RED or PINK isn't the overpowering color, either! "

Seems simple enough. My biggest challenge was finding a Unity stamp that featured a heart. I found a single tiny heart in my grab bag assortment and used it to make a background. And I found an image with hearts.

Products:
~Unity Stamps - heart from small grab bag
                     - image from KOM 12/10
~Little Yellow Bicycle - blue paper 'Clothesline' collection
~Kraft cardstock

Kraftin Kimmie Sketch #117 - take 2

And here is my entry in the same Kraftin Kimmie challenge (see post below if you are confused ;).

Love the colours!

Kraftin Kimmie Sketch #117

So I was pulling out my Kraftin' Kimmie stamps last night to pick one for the current challenge, when Celeste wandered over to see what I was doing. She took one look at the Angry Ballerina stamp and decided she too would like to make card. And she wanted me to enter it in the challenge too. Hopefully that's okay with the Kraftin' Kimmie peeps :)

The sketch.

Celeste's card.

Pretty darn cute! She did everything herself (choosing the papers and embellies, stamping the image and colouring) except I stamped the sentiment for her. That can be tricky (for me anyways ;).

~K & Co papers (no idea what that stack is called, I lost the cover long ago)

Project 12 - February 2012

Time for another Project 12 submission. This month I used the February 2010 sketch combined with this month's Color Suite.

The sketch.

The Colour Suite.

My entry.

Looks a little different than the sketch..... I decided to shrink the sketch down to a one page layout. I think you can still see the sketch in it.

I used Echo Park's Springtime collection and just added some pearls in pink and white.

Punch Challenge

This week's challenge on CropChocolate.com was to use a punch shape to make a different shape. Now I don't have a lot of punches to work with (not even a single circle or square punch, shocking I know) so I figured a little heart punch that I have would be my best bet. At first I was thinking I could build an owl with hearts (and I still think that would work) but my punch is small so the owl would have been pretty tiny. So a simple flower was going to have to work.

I think it's pretty cute!

Happy Birthday Card

I've been busy making cards again! This one is for my big girl on her 8th birthday! I know she will love it :)

This card was inspired by two challenges. The colour scheme from Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger picture. So many things to be inspired by in the pic, but I went with the colours. Pink, orange,  and turquoise.

The other source of my inspiration is the current challenge at Kraftin Kimmie Stamps (a great Canadian company, I should add). Their challenge this week is to use Pins & Pearls. Done & done-er :)

My creation.

Please don't look too close. Colouring is NOT my forte. I paper pieced the dress, shoes and barrettes. Next time I will remember not to drink so much coffee before hand! Holding tiny pieces of paper with tweezers and trying to trim them is not easy with shaky hands and blurry eyes!

But I really like how it turned out! Even added a little something to the inside!

Echo Park - Little Girl paper

Crop Chocolate - Focus Group February Challenge

A fresh new season of the focus group has started and I was lucky enough to be selected again! February is our a first challenge.

The challenge requirements are to create a project using at least 2 of the following: pinwheel; 2 different trims; 3 different colours; or a staple.  And if we use all of them we get two bonus entries into the monthly drawing for $5 cropchocolate.com credit. And as always, at least 50% of our supplies have to be from cropchocolate.com.

Here is my entry!

I used all of the requirements! I may have had to quickly add a staple or two afterwards because I may have forgotten about it earlier ;) This is the first time I  have made pinwheels. Super easy to do!

Batter Up! - take 3

And the third is the DCWV February Stack-a-holic Template Challenge. This is my first time participating. I just loved the sketch and new I had to use it!

My version.

I love how this turned out! I just wished I had though to mask and mist the heart into the background before I started on the flag banner. I think I will be doing this sketch again. I love the flag banner!

This uses the DCWV Green Stack papers and chipboard. And Dear Lizzy Thickers.

Batter Up! - take 2

Up next is the My Mind's Eye blog challenge #32.

The sketch (plus the theme of 'you').

MME2012_sketch_layout02_Feb

Very pretty and girly! Because I am into my February 2011 photos with scrapbooking right now, I knew exactly which 'You' I wanted to feature in this layout.

My beautiful Celeste on her seventh birthday :)

I used MME Lime Twist 'Life of the Party' (very appropriate) papers and accessories. The flowers and pearls are from my stash (possibly MM). And the 'seven' is done with 'Sunny' Thickers.

Batter Up!

No baseball here, but I do have 3 different challenge layouts to post separately so let's get to it!

Up to bat first is the Creative Scrappers Challenge #194 sketch!

I really like this sketch but I had a little more trouble with it then I expected to. I ended up leaving the center piece out and doing fewer rectangles.

I'm pretty happy with it. The only supplies used are My Mind's Eye Stella & Rose 'Gertie' Collection (papers, buttons and cardstock stickers) and an MME Daily Dose journaling card.

I am so in love with all 3, I may just send them to myself on Feb. 14th! You know, I may be on to something there.... how good would it be to write yourself a love note???!

Cover It

The closest LSS to me, Scrapbookin' Adventures, has started hosting bi-weekly challenges on their facebook page. They have been lots of fun! Mist It, Put Some ♥ Into It and this week's Cover It.

So for the Cover It challenge, I grabbed the hideous box that I store the cards I make in and covered it :)

And After:

Much prettier! Now it can sit in the open on the shelf instead of being hidden away.

Creative Scrappers Sketch #193

I participated again in the Creative Scrappers Sketch Challenge. And I love the new sketch so I will be doing it again sometime this week!
Very pretty! But the picture I chose wasn't so girly so I had to 'man up' the LO a bit ;)

I love how this turned out! The transparency with the hot air balloons on it doesn't stand out as much IRL. You pretty much just see the balloons.

Project 12 - January 2012

I am starting off the year with Project 12. Hopefully I stick to it a bit better than I did last year!

They are doing things a bit different this year. We get to pick whichever sketch we like from the previous two years sketches and there is also a colour palette to work with.

I used the January 2010 sketch.

And this is the colour palette.

♥ Valentine's Tags ♥

So, CropChocolate.com posted it's first of what will be weekly challenges this morning! This weeks is to make a 3 x 5 Valentine's tag. This was exciting as I have never done a tag before! And I can also enter this into Really Reasonable Ribbon's Challenge #41:  Red & Pink with Ribbon. I have been watching their blog since I signed up for the monthly ribbon kit, wanting to do a challenge. So this was perfect.

ETA: I have been having trouble keeping up with which challenges I wanted to enter. So I have joined Pinterest to help me keep track! I forgot that this one is also for the HIMCR Challenge #31: Valentines Day Project.

Here is what I came up with.

Of course, I had to make two :).

For entry into:
Products Used:
Kraft cardstock
RRR - January kit ribbon
Glimmer Mist - Red Nosed Reindeer
Echo Park - Yours Truly paper and stickers
