Left Behind Blog Hop - Entry #4

This will probably be my final entry for the blog hop. Unless I remember to take some shots at our Canada Day BBQ tomorrow :)

The challenges:

by belle - http://stuffbybelle.blogspot.com - handmade non-paper embellishment
mom2tayandbay – www.talesoftayandbay.blogspot.com  - travel LO

My Layout:

This may not look quite like a travel LO, but the pic was taken in the car as we drove to Parksville for Amalie's birthday picnic. And the non-paper, handmade embellie is the twine butterfly. I've been wanting to try making these for a while, so this was a great reason to!

Hopefully I get some good pictures tomorrow and then I can complete the one challenge I have left!

Remember YOU have until the morning of July 5th to submit your projects!

Products:
from CC - Fancy Pants 'Love Story' page kit
               - Distress Inks - Tumbled Glass & Barn Door
non CC - twine

Left Behind Blog Hop - Challenge #3

One more for today! This time a card for 2 challenges.

The challenges:

     scrapaddict-laura - http://scrapaddict4life.blogspot.com - Use a journal card and bling

My Card:

Journal card and bling are used :) And I used alcohol ink mixed with a bit of water, to change the colour of the flowers. They were white.

Products:
from CC - MME Lime Twist 'Happy Go Lucky' papers and accessories
               - Alcohol Ink - citrus
               - Prima flowers
               - MM Wedding gems

CC Left Behind Blog Hop - Entry #2

And here is the second entry. Also a layout and also for 3 challenges. What can I say, I'm efficient! ;)

Challenges I am entering:

Karey2005 – http://www.karey2005.blogspot.com - something found in Nature

raebae – http://kitchentablescrapper.blogspot.com - capture an everyday moment

Haf2scrap – (guest of centralnyscrapper) http://centralnyscrapper.blogspot.com - use 3
different alphas

Here is my LO:

Laundry is definitely an everyday moment in our house. I snapped these pics of Iain pulling the basket of clean diapers off the table. The something found in nature may be hard to spot at first, but if you look closely at the little tab of ribbon, you will see orange butterflies on it. And I did use 3 different alphas ('laundry,' 'everyday' and 'moment').

I hope I start seeing some more entries on my challenge soon! Scroll down to find it! PINWHEELS!

CC Left Behind Blog Hop - Entry #1

I managed to assemble a layout last night for entry into 3 of the Blog Challenges.

They are:
clayton528 – http://www.upinthenightwithkat.blogspot.com - Spring themed
- Scrappy Canuck – http://scrappycanuck.wordpress.com - LO in 1 hour
- bethd488 - http://engineeringmemories.blogspot.com - American Flag inspiration

My LO:

These pictures are from our school's PAC picnic last Spring. I used a red white and blue colour scheme (with a touch of kraft) and managed to keep it simple and done in under an hour (once I adjusted for toddler interruptions, of course).

I'm really having fun with these challenges! I hope you are too! I'm excited to see what others come up with!

Products:
from CC - Distress Ink 'barn door'
               - October Afternoon 'Rocket Age' paper (star circle)
               - Jillibean soup ribbon

               - Sassafras Lass brad
               - Thickers
               - MME lime twist alphas

For Those Who are Left Behind Blog Challenge Hop!!!

So CropChocolate.com is hosting their 'Spring Fling' event in Utah this weekend and all us crafters who could not make it were feeling left out. Poor us ;).

Instead of sitting around sulking all weekend, we have decided to host a blog hop with challenges! With prizes donated by CropChocolate.com and some of their vendors!

To participate, hop along to each blog and complete the challenge that is posted on that blog. Each blog will have it's own challenge and rules so make sure you read them! The one rule that applies to all of the blogs, is that 50% of your product used must be purchased from CropChocolate.com.

Here is the list of blogs:

And here is my challenge!

I want to see you use a Pinwheel on your project! In order to win a prize FROM ME you need to leave me a link to your project (posted on your blog or online gallery or CropChocolate.com profile gallery) in the comments section by 9am (central time) July 6th! And you must also become a follower of my blog! I will draw a winner from those comments on July 6th, so please make sure you leave an email address to!

And remember, you must use at least 50% of products purchased from CropChocolate.com.

So go get crafty and remember to include a PINWHEEL!

*You may combine up to 3 challenges from this blog hop on one project if you would like, but remember you still need to post it on each of those blogs*

Summer's Coming

The weather may not agree, but summer is here! School finishes up for us this week, so it was time I stopped procrastinating and finished the teacher gifts and cards.

I finally had another chance to use the Simple Stories Summer Fresh collection! Love it so much! I used Summer Fresh for the cards, plus some random ribbon, Bella Blvd. washi tape (red with white polka dots) and Fancy Pants buttons.

The gift bags were made with an old Imaginisce summer stack. I also finally used a roll of ribbon I won from May Arts way back in December! The yellow bag also has a stripe of Making Memories packing tape on it.

Project 12 - May

I'm a little later than usual with my Project 12 submission but still under the deadline! I started this layout at Crop & Create Burnaby, but may have been too busy chatting to get it finished :)

I used the sketch from May 2010 and also this month's Colour Suite. I think I stuck to them a little better than last month.

The sketch:

CropChocolate challenge #17

So this week's challenge at CropChocolate.com is to use some sort of 3-D embellishment on your project. Simple enough.

I have combine it with the current sketch at CPS.

The sketch:

This Week's Sketch (#268)

My card:

It was a little bit of a struggle but I am very please with the results! I made a 3-d flower out of folded circles and added a button center.

The butterfly section is another piece I did yesterday when I was trying out that new technique. I have one other piece left from it. You may see it pretty soon :).

Products Used:

MME - Portobello Road paper (for the flower circles)
BasicGrey - Little Black Dress papers
BasicGrey - Kraft Basics paper
Distress Ink - Milled Lavender & Tumbled Glass
Unity Stamp Co. - 'with her own wings'
Clear Embossing Powder
Versa Mark

Blog Hop

I'm not a part of it, but the CropChocolate.com Design Team is having one last blog hop before they pass the torch to the new team.

If you need to storage and organization tips (or if you just like peeking into other crafter's spaces), make sure you check it out! And if you comment and follow you could win some blog candy! And there are some great ones!

I'm hoping for this one:

Great work DeeDee!

So go start the blog hop here! Tell them Nina sent you!

Our Little Secret.....

Shhhh, I'm posting this card but it is my tryout for the next CropChocolate.com Focus Group so I don't think I am supposed to share it yet! On the plus side, there is still time to apply if you want to join!

I'm posting early because I want to enter it in a few Unity Stamp Co challenges too.

The Unity Challenge for June is to use Stripes.
The Unity Opportunity Ippity Challenge is to use the colour Red.
And the Chick Challenges with Ippity is a sketch.
The CropChocolate.com Focus Group challenge is to try a new technique plus use one of the rows on this bingo board:

The sketch:

My card:

My new technique was resist stamping with an embossed image. Love it. And I used the 'button, stamp, patterned paper' row on the bingo board.

Products Used:
-My Mind's Eye - Stella & Rose papers

the Gnome Hat

I've been waiting to scrap this picture for a while. This is the hat I had my mom crochet for Iain after finding the pattern free on blog. I did have it bookmarked but now I can't find it.

I've also been itching to use the new Simple Stories 'Freshly Picked' collection. Love it.

For this layout I used sketch #211 over at Creative Scrappers.

I also followed the rules for Scrapbookin' Adventures' facebook page challenge. The current challenge is to 'Limit It.' We had to limit our supplies to cardstock, patterned paper, brads, ink and alphas.

The sketch:

My Layout:

I love this collection from Simple Stories! I can't wait to use it more!
