So we are supposed to include, and I quote, "5 fun facts about yourself." I'm gonna add in an eyeroll and huge dramatic sigh right here.....
5 fun facts about myself....let's see......
1. I'm a Taurus. 100%. hee hee.
2. I have a sweet tooth the size of my head
3. and a salt tooth to match ;)
4. I've lived in the same town my whole life
5. My wedding cake was a pumpkin cheesecake. Mmmmmm, cheesecake.....
And my headshot....
Okay, clearly I am a very boring person. Let's all move on to the projects I used for the Design Team tryout.
This first project is layout that I did of my husband's family. The people in the picture are his sister and her children and his cousins and her daughters. This is what I submitted as a project that reflects me as a crafter.
These photos were taken at my husband’s Oma & Opa’s house shortly after Oma
had passed away (Opa passes a few years before that). I feel this reflects my
style well. The layout is a little simpler than my ‘normal’ but the intent is
the same. I like to keep the focus on the pictures. These pictures were so
special that I really did not want to distract from them with too many
embellishments. This is how most of my layouts are. The focus is on the photos
and the story they tell. I add journaling when extra details are needed or when
cute stories don’t want to be forgotten. I want my children to cherish these
albums when they are much older. I want them to be able to look back and
remember the special moments, the funny moments, maybe even a few sad moments. I
want them to see these albums and realize how important they themselves are to
me and my story. {CC Supplies: Fancy Pants “Summers End” papers and rub ons}
{Other Supplies: Pink Paislee Alphas}
The other project I submitted was my 'out of the box' project. For this I used the project that was also my November project for the previous Design Team. So most of you have probably already seen it. It is the
toddler painted canvas embellished for Thanksgiving. This is out of the box for
me because I let my two year old loose with paint and brushes!!! And, I don’t do
a lot of home décor projects, just the odd banner and what not. I also do not
like to do projects that can’t be finished in a day (or two at the most). This
one took a bit longer. I used my Cricut a LOT
for it. I really should use it more. I also cut vinyl with my Cricut for the
first time! So while this may not look like an ‘out of the box’ project, the
work that went into it was out of the box for me. {CC Supplies: Cricut “Stretch
Your Imagination;” MM Slice binyl; Teresa Collins “Giving Thanks” paper (from
grab bag); EP “Happy Halloween” papers} {Other Supplies: canvas;
paint}
